We had a record number of sign ups for the Turkey Trot with over 100 runners and volunteers! Although we won’t be able to gather like we have in previous years, we can’t wait to cheer you on as you participate in a virtual event. Put on your t-shirt and race bib and GO!
The virtual 5K can be completed on your own time and in your own place – your neighborhood, even your backyard or living room. If you prefer, you can complete your 5K on a treadmill at the Y in Newton. Included in your packet is a complimentary day pass for the Newton Y and multiple options for race routes totaling 5K or 3.1 miles. Take this opportunity to explore a new part of Newton with your family!
We hope your presence in different places will challenge others to remain active during this time. Please take pictures of your race. If you post them to social media be sure to tag the Newton Y. Use the hashtag #ForABetterUs. We can’t wait to see you complete this challenge!
Starting Friday, November 20th, at noon, come to the Newton Y to pick up your race packet. Race packets will be available to pick after Friday anytime the Y is open. Then fill out the form below by December 4th to be entered into our random prize drawings, prizes will be available to pick up the following week from the Newton Y welcome center. Many thanks to local businesses including the Bridgehouse Coffee, Subway, and Montana Mikes for their prize donations.
If regulations due to covid-19 prohibit this event from taking place, the event will be virtual. We will be in contact with information on how to run the race on your own, and packets will be distributed with the snacks you would have received at the event.
