membership policies & procedures

Membership Procedures

Cancellation
Members wishing to cancel their membership must come into the Y and complete a cancellation form. Cancellations can be done anytime throughout the month, however, to prevent future payments the form must be completed prior to the 20th of the month.

Refunds
Program participants who cancel for any reason will be given a credit for use in YMCA programs. Programs with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled and participants will be credited or refunded in full. No deposit will be returned for Preschool, Playgroups, camps, or child card programs. The deposit is necessary to secure your child’s spot in the program. The YMCA does not provide refunds on membership.

Membership Refund Policy: The Newton YMCA will reimburse a member up to one month if they have followed the cancellation procedures and the YMCA continues to withdraw payments from their accounts. The YMCA will not be held responsible for any further reimbursement of withdrawals.

Guest Passes
Members are encouraged to invite friends and family to experience the Y with them. There is usually a cost associated with this, however member incentives will periodically be offered where members may invite guests for FREE. The general guest policy is that residents of Jasper County are asked to pay a daily fee for use of the facility.
Daily Fees:
Youth - $6
Adult - $12
Senior Citizen - $8  (only $1 on Thursdays!)
Family - $20

Kids Zone - (Drop-In Child Care)
The Newton YMCA offers FREE, drop-in child care for its members so parents can get a workout in. Child Watch/Kid Zone is open to all individuals who have a current FAMILY MEMBERSHIP to the Newton YMCA. Child care is provided for children ages 6 months to 8 years old. Hours of operation are limited. Please visit
Kid Zone (newtonymca.org) for more details.

Newton YMCA's Age Requirements

The Newton YMCA, in line with our mission and core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, promises to ensure the safety of all. In order to stay true to this promise and to establish a culture of safety we have implemented a new policy voted on and approved by the Newton YMCA's Board of Directors.
