School Age Program (Kindergarten-12 Years Old)

Ratio: 
The school age program room is staffed at a 1:15—Staff:Child Ratio

Hours: 
Monday-Friday before and after school care provided. Care also is provided for non-school days, early dismissal and school delays.

Transportation:
Transportation is provided through the Newton Community School District.

Programming:
The YMCA provides a variety of exciting theme based activities geared toward individual interests and grade levels to keep children engaged. Children are guided by YMCA values, positive behaviors, to respect themselves and others, work out their differences and discover the value of friendship.

Physical Activity:
Physical activity is important to your child’s health.  We provide daily physical activity and movement through indoor gym or outdoor games.

Monday-Friday with full day programming

Extras: 
  • YMCA Day Camp offers swimming lessons, field trips and fun activities that provide children the opportunity to explore and stay safe within the supervision of our trained YMCA staff
  • Out of town field trips are provided to many fun locations. 
  • Summer sports programs are available.  Here at the Y everyone plays and the emphasis is on learning the sport, building skills, developing relationship and having fun.
