The Governor of Iowa enacted more stipulations in our State last night to protect our healthcare system and the vulnerable from COVID-19. This proclamation directly impacts your Newton YMCA in many areas. Below will be a list of what will change regarding our operations on a day-to-day basis. These operational changes will be in effect as of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17th. Please be patient with the staff as we navigate through this extremely fluid time. We are here for you and your families but must remain diligent in our attempt to keep everyone safe.
The YMCA will require masks to be worn for ALL patrons while in the facility. The only exception to this rule will be that you may take your mask off while “active”. Per the proclamation, the policy can exclude the following:
Youth and Adult Programming
- Due to the recent provision from Governor Reynolds, all youth and adult sports, with the exception of youth and adult competitive basketball, will be permitted upon the discretion of each director. Please contact: Nick Shelton (nick.shelton@newtonymca.org) and/or Scott Taylor (scott.taylor@newtonymca.org) with any questions you may have about any ongoing or upcoming programs.
Fitness and Wellness
Personal Training
Child Watch
If you have any questions about the changes, please do so with grace and patience with our staff.
