Toddlers

Learn More About YMCA's Toddler Program

Ratio:
The toddler child care room is staffed at a 1:4—Staff:Child Ratio

Daily Sheets:
Daily sheets are provided to inform you of your child’s day. The daily sheets include information on food schedule, nap schedule, large motor and diapering schedule.

Conferences
Conferences are held annually.  Parents and teachers meet to discuss child's screening using Ages & Stages (see below), fine motor and large motor development, Math, Language and Writing.

Ages & Stages:
Our program uses Ages and Stages individual assessments and also child portfolios to assess the child’s developmental progress. The teaching staff and families discuss the results of the assessments and plan for continued growth throughout the year.

Physical Activity
Physical activity is important to your child’s health.  We provide daily physical activity and movement through indoor gym or outdoor games.

Your Child's Day

Welcome:
Staff creates a calm environment with a smooth transition from parent to staff.

Learning Time:
Staff provides an environment where children can have hands on exploration through communication, fine motor, gross motor, problem solving and personal-social.

Meal Time:
Meal time offers a predictable routine that help children wash hands, sit at the table and start the social skills that are needed for communication and proper table manners. Snacks and meals are provided under the federal food program (CACFP).

Departure:
Staff assists children in a smooth transition to their parents at the end of the day.
